Dr. Risch Appiah-Nkrumah, Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, has been awarded the Best Resident Award (2025) by the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons for the Faculty of Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
Dr. Appiah-Nkrumah topped the specialist membership examination, surpassing residents from Ghana’s leading teaching hospitals including Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Tamale Teaching Hospital and Greater Accra Regional Hospital. The examination, organized by the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons, represents the highest standard of specialist training in obstetrics and gynecology in Ghana.
The award recognizes exceptional clinical excellence, knowledge and outstanding commitment to women’s health throughout the rigorous three-year membership training program. Dr. Appiah-Nkrumah was trained at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital.
